About Me

I have been teaching writing at the university level since the fall of 2005. I started as a grad student, terrified to be in front of a class despite the many years I spent longing to become a teacher! I soon moved on to teaching as an adjunct instructor--first taking on three classes a semester, later taking on as much as five, and later leveling out at an average of four.

I have taught in a large, urban, four year college setting; a small, rural, community college setting; and at an urban technical school. At these institutions I have taught every class from Introductory College Composition (College Composition I) to courses in Argumentation. I have also taught three levels of Developmental Writing.

I manage two other blogs: Beyond Graves Disease and Amy's Joy (a page for writers, about writing).
